
Learned to sing at age three at home and by attending operatic rehearsals with dad/baritone Roman Ortega-Cowan.
Began performing at age five around the house for family and in school.
Studied with Lynda Smith, Lynda Fox and Manuel Lujan.
Grew up in Vero Beach performing with Riverside Children's Theatre, Vero Beach Theatre Guild, and Vero Beach Opera.
Earned B.S. in Broadcast Journalism-Media Performance from FSU and worked in Public Relations for Sony Music in New York City in the early 1990's before opening/running an ad agency for 12 years in Vero Beach.
Opened sister companies Tania Tunes, Inc. and Chunky Monkey Advertising, Inc. (PR/Advertising firm in Vero Beach) in 2005.
Sings a wide range of styles professionally, with a focus on Sacred Music, Jazz, and 'Choir Boy' styles.
Coaches several dozen voice students ranging in age from 5 to 73.
Composes music for hire and for personal enjoyment.
Directs a 55+ choir with Jean Rasp for the Senior Resource Association.
Recorded a collection of 1940's songs with jazz pianist Ryan Larson.
